John B. KohlJohn B. Kohl, of Richfield, went peacefully to see his maker Aug. 16, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 87. He was the loving husband of Evie for 63 years; loving father of Terry (Elizabeth), Tom (Diane) and Tammy; cherished grandfather of Bobbi, Ben, Andy (Kathleen), Matthew, Jacob, Ryan, Natalie (Mario) Sanfilippo, Brandon (Reina) and Michael; and loving great-grandfather of Jenna, Drew, Cole, Eveline, John, Louisa and Lillian. He is also survived by his sister, Alice Schulteis, and brother-in-law, Ed Laubenheimer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. John was preceded in death by his wife, Eveline, this past September; by his parents, Anna and Joseph Kohl; sister, Loretta Fleischmann; brothers-in-law, Albert Schulteis, Erwin Fleischmann and Joe Jung; and sisters-in-law, Mildred Jung and Doris Laubenheimer.

John was very active in his community. He took over his family farm operations and kept the family farming tradition going. He served on the Richfield Volunteer Fire Co. and the Richfield Lions Club for 50 years. John served as a treasurer and trustee at St. Boniface Parish, served on the Richfield School Board, and was a town supervisor for six years before becoming town chairman, which he held for 16 years. John ran for County Board in 1972 and held that position for 34 years as county supervisor.

Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 21, at St. Boniface Catholic Church (W204 N11924 Goldendale Road, Germantown, WI) from 3-5:45 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Boniface or the Richfield Lions Club are appreciated. There will be a private burial at the church cemetery.
