Mable O. Peters

Mable O. (Kufahl) Peters (nee Oelhafen), 91, of West Bend, flew to Jesus on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017.

She was born April 16, 1926, to the late Edward and Leona (nee Kelling) Oelhafen in West Bend. She graduated from West Bend High School in 1943. On Aug. 30, 1947, she was united in marriage to Elmer Kufahl at St. Johnís Church in West Bend. He passed away on March 20, 1968. On July 10, 1976, she married Hillard Peters. He passed March 2, 1986. Mable worked more than 30 years for the West Bend Co. and was a member of the 25-year club. She was a member of Fred A. Schaefer VFW ladies Auxiliary, the ladies aid at St. Johnís and the Homemakers organization. Mable was an avid baker, making wedding cakes, and was an excellent sewer and quilter. She liked bowling, playing sheepshead, bingo and anything else fun. Mable and Hillard had their cottage up north and enjoyed spending time there. Mable enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Those Mable leaves behind to cherish her memory include her two children, Dennis (Pat) Kufahl and Christine (John Reger) Kufahl; five grandchildren, Pam Garrison, Jennifer (Jarry) Kotek, Melissa (Seth) Hemmersbach, Theodore Kufahl and Amanda Moser; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three sisters, her identical twin Meta Kielley, Dorothy (Kenneth) Koehler, and Alice (Harley) Koehler; a sister-inlaw, Alice Oelhafen; a good friend, Mary Ann Theisen; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two husbands; a brother, Robert Oelhafen; a sister, Bernice (Jim) Grigg; her grandson, Jeffrey Moser; a brother-in-law, Donald Kielley; and two sisters-in-law, Erna York and Ruth Korneli.

A funeral service in remembrance of Mable will be held at noon Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, 777 Indiana Ave., West Bend. Burial will be at 2:45 p.m. at Washington County Memorial Park.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
