Florence Willey, 86

Florence Willey (nee Lammers), 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, in Appleton. She was born in Milwaukee on Sept. 6, 1930, to Henry and Viola (nee DuMay) Lamers. Florence married Robert E. “Bob” Willey in June 26, 1954, in Milwaukee and moved to West Bend in 1964. She worked in various accounting positions including WBKV Radio in West Bend. Florence loved her vegetable garden along with canning the vegetables. She also treasured being a wife, mother and grandmother who will provide many years of fond memories. Florence was the treasurer at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church of West Bend and a PTA member of St. John’s Lutheran Grade School of West Bend.
Florence is survived by her two children, Kevin (Mary “Beth”) of Oshkosh and Colleen (David) Lemke of Menasha; seven grandchildren, Eric (Emily) Willey, Jessica (Gregory) Strike, Matthew (Cindy) Willey, Stephanie (Alex) Bain, Nicole (Christopher “Mino”) Johnson, Bryn LaRue and Alyssa LaRue; and great-grandchildren, Melody and Vivian Strike, Jackson and Samantha Willey, and Avery and Lukas Johnson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Florence is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Willey; son, Scott Willey; daughter, Cindy LaRue; and siblings, Audrey (Donald) Klienke, Rae (Gordy) Bomey and Joyce Butler.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church (777 S. Indiana Ave. West Bend, 53095) with the Rev. Robert Hein presiding. Visitation will be at church Monday from noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Entombment to follow at Washington County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to WELS World Missions or WELS Christian Aid and Relief.
