Judith M. ‘Judi’ Lepold, 77
March 16, 1940 — Aug. 20, 2017
Judith Marie “Judi” (Jochem) Lepold passed away unexpectedly and went to the loving arms of our Lord on Aug. 20, 2017, at Lasata Senior Living in Cedarburg. She was 77 years old.
Born in Tipler, Wisconsin, on March 16, 1940, Judi moved to Milwaukee and became a hairdresser in 1959. After 35 years of bouffants and beehives, Judi switched gears and worked at McDonald’s in Fox Point for 16 years, where she enjoyed going in at an ungodly hour and working with her friends and co-workers, serving her many repeat customers. When macular degeneration stole her ability to drive in 2006, Judi retired and spent her remaining years enjoying cooking, walking her puppy, “Noodle Pudge,” and hanging out with her family.
Affectionately referred to as “Jude,” both behind her back and to her face, and “Gma Hoot” by her grandkids, she was the glue that held our family together. Despite being plagued with ill health in her last three years, Judi remained cheerful, kind and never lost her sense of humor. She was never afraid to crack wise when the moment called for it.
Judi is survived by her daughter, Mari “Mouse” Lepold of Thiensville, son Joe (Jane or “Janzy”) Lepold and granddaughter, Victoria Jane “Twigs” Lepold, all of Grafton; her brother Joseph (Jane) Jochem of Tipler; and sister Betty Ermatinger of Stevens Point. Also survived by special friends and bumming buddies Jack and Barbara Norman of Cedarburg, as well as nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alice Jochem; husband Joseph “Joska” Lepold; sisters Lorraine Henning and Jane Henning; and most recently her beloved grandson, Joey “Joe Boo” or “JB” Lepold. Painfully missing her here on earth, our only consolation is knowing that she is with our Joey in heaven, dancing on both legs as he rocks out on the guitar.
According to Judi’s wishes, no services will be held. Online condolences can be forwarded to the family at www.eernissefuneralhome.com. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Cedarburg, is assisting the family.
