Audrey Jean Biegler, 87
July 29, 1930 — Sept. 22, 2017

Audrey Jean Biegler (nee Boettcher) passed away peacefully at her assisted living apartment at Croixdale Senior Community on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, in Bayport, Minnesota. She was 87 years old.

Audrey was born July 29, 1930, in Milwaukee, to Herman and Gertrude Boettcher. She graduated as the valedictorian from her high school in 1948. She met her future husband, Bradley M. Biegler, at church. They were married in 1952 after Bradley got out of the Navy and completed his electrical engineering degree. She and Bradley lived in a number of states (Pennsylvania, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan) following Bradley’s various technical sales and sales-management positions. The couple welcomed five children into their home with the oldest and youngest born on the same date 10 years apart. After raising her children she became a pharmacy technician at West Bend Pharmacy and Walmart until she retired in 1995.

Audrey was very creative. She was accomplished at knitting and sewing. She often made clothing for her children and grandchildren. She and Bradley were active and dedicated members of the churches in the cities where they lived, including Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church in West Bend and Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia. They sang in the choirs, participated in church activities, and served in leadership positions. Audrey loved to sing and enjoyed many roles in local theater and performance groups. But her most joyful moments were spending time with family. Her family and friends will remember her fondly for her loving, giving personality. All were welcome in her home and her heart!

Audrey is survived by three of her five children, Lynn (Rechek/ Rick) of Manitowoc, Kirk (Marti) of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, and Tracy (Amy) of Peshtigo; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Gertrude Boettcher of Milwaukee; her husband, Bradley of West Bend; her brother, Alan of Atlanta; two of her children, Jodie (Chapman/Ken) of Kewaskum and Todd (Debbie) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and son-in-law, Clayton Gloege (Lynn Recheck).

A visitation and memorial service for family and friends is planned for Saturday, Oct. 14, at Zion Methodist Church in Batavia. Visitation will be held from 1011 a.m., with service beginning at 11 a.m. All are welcome to share in this remembrance of Audrey’s life! Please join family for a luncheon immediately following the service to share memories and celebrate a life well lived. Family will accompany Audrey and Bradley as they are interred together at Washington County Memorial Park following the luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Audrey’s memory to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America: or The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy Attn: Supporting the Cause, 485 Half Day Road, Suite 350, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089; Email:
