Bernice H. Allman (nee Goetz), 90, of Hartford, took her seat in heaven Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, with her children by her side.

Bernice was born April 27, 1927, in Hubertus, to Peter and Emma (nee Schulz) Goetz. She was united in marriage to Harold J. Allman on June 21, 1947, and had three wonderful children.

She celebrated life with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and her dog, Maggie. In her younger years, Bernice enjoyed dancing and life on the water. Later in life she enjoyed watching NASCAR, word searches, praying the rosary and watching daily mass. Bernice loved going out for a turtle sundae, and continued to meet up with friends for an occasional Friday night fish fry.

Bernice will always be remembered by her family for her love of life, wit and smile. She was a true example of grace and strength.

Bernice is survived by her children, Sharon (Walter) Hembel, Sue Lisko, and Mark Allman; grandchildren, Brenda (Chuck) Rolli, Brian Hembel, Sara (Kurt) Johnson, Adam (Melissa) Lisko and Matthew  (Dawn) Allman; great-grandchildren, Brianna (Darren) Flees, Jenna Rolli, Nick Rolli, Sabrina (Matt) Gericke, Ronald Chouinard, Jacob Hembel, Bennett and Cole Johnson, Lilly and Emma Lisko, and Ethan Allman; and great-great-grandchildren, Noah and Natalie Flees, and Mallory and Madelynn Chouinard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents; siblings; and son-in-law, Tony Lisko.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford, on Saturday Oct. 7. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon. Mass will be officiated by the Rev. David La Plante, with interment to follow at St. Kilian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to EWTN, the Washington County Humane Society, or to American Cancer Society.
