LeRoy R. Ritger, 88, of Hartford, formerly of Allenton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at the Waterford of Hartford.

LeRoy was born Feb. 24, 1929 in the town of Addison, to Gerhard and Gertrude (nee Aufdermauer) Ritger. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Imelda Weninger, on Dec. 29, 1954, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira. LeRoy served his country in the United States Army as a policeman from 1951-1953. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting, fishing and finding the best trees for morel mushrooms and firewood. LeRoy was a dairy farmer in the town of Addison his entire life, but his true passion in life was being a livestock dealer.

LeRoy is survived by his loving children, Gerhard “Gary” of Saratoga, California, Timothy (special friend Bonnie) of Allenton, Cecilia (Russ) Nehm of Hartford, and Daniel of Kewaskum; cherished grandchildren, Krista, Justin Fickler, Teresa (Tim) Weiser, Douglas (Lavina) Nehm, Eric Nehm and Clyde Ritger; great-grandchildren, Margot and Benjamin Weiser; siblings, Herbert (Shirley) Ritger, Mary Ellen Schulz, and Peter (Beverley) Ritger; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Lillian Ritger, Lucille Nowakowski, Elizabeth Beck, George (Mary Ann) Weninger, Michael (Rosemary) Weninger, Pilar Weninger and Richard Feucht. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 46 years, Imelda; and siblings, Anthony, Francis (Donald) Rettler, and Marcia (Ronald) Jerde.

A Mass of Christian Burial for LeRoy will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at Resurrection Catholic Church (215 Main St., Allenton, WI 53002) with the Rev. Rick Stoffel officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church Monday from 3-6 p.m.

Private interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Allenton.
