Mary Reback, 83

Mary Reback, was born Mary Adele Gasparek, in Milwaukee on April 14, 1934 to Joseph and Mary (Hahn) Gasparek where she graduated from West Division High School, married her one true love Joseph William Reback on Nov. 5, 1955, and raised three very grateful children, Joseph (Kris), Patricia (Jay) Gregor and Gregory. In 1978, Joe and Mary moved to a small estate/farm outside Zebulon, North Carolina, where they peacefully tended the land and each other for nearly 30 years. After Joe’s death on Feb. 15, 2006, Mary returned to Wisconsin with Sandy the Wonder Dog, settling in West Bend, where she spent her last 10 years making new friends and helping care for and nurture her grandchild, Lily.

She passed away Oct. 7, 2017, rejoining her parents and three beautiful sisters, Dorothy (Herman) Reback, Theresa (Michael) Carew and Genevieve Gasparek. She is survived by three dynamic brothers, Charles, Joseph (Carol) and Michael Gasparek, and 16 cherished nieces and nephews. She was a great cook and loved entertaining, gardening, playing cards, volunteering and working out at the YMCA. She especially enjoyed socializing at the West Bend Senior Center. She was an extremely loving and caring mother who will be deeply missed. She did not wish to be mourned so a celebration of her life is planned from noon until 5 p.m. Nov. 4 at Fox Brook Park in Brookfield. Mary was a philanthropist and an eternal optimist so in lieu of flowers please find a way to make this world a little nicer.
