Gerald Zitzelberger, 89

Gerald “Jerry” Zitzelberger was called home Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at the age of 89 surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was an outstanding father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather.

Jerry was born April 1, 1928, in Milwaukee to Benno and Marquerite (nee Raminger) Zitzelberger. He graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee in 1946. Jerry is an Army veteran and served during World War II. He began his career as a lithographer at Mueller Color Plate in Milwaukee.

Jerry’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. He also enjoyed outdoor activities, such as walking, bike riding, and tennis, as well as casino trips, and solving sudoku puzzles.

He is survived by his children, Karen (Robert) Fehrmann, John Zitzelberger and Chris (John) Groth; grandchildren, Nickolas and Jessica Fehrmann, Justin (Heidi) Groth, Stacy (Phil) Summers, and Rachel (Zachery) Cass; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Emily, Sarah, Andrea, Audriana, Melanie and Vaughan; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice “Pat,” his parents, and brothers, Thomas and James.

A funeral service will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, WI 53095) with Deacon Mark Jansen presiding. Visitation at the funeral home will be Saturday, Oct. 28, from10 a.m. until the time of service (noon). Interment will be at Washington County Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m.
