Harold George Thimm, 93, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Angels Grace Hospice.
Harold was born June 20, 1924, in Hartford to John and Clara (nee Konrath) Thimm. He was united in marriage to Mary Mueller on Oct. 26, 1946, at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford.
Harold was a lifelong member of St. John Catholic Church in Rubicon. He was a member of the St. John Parish Holy Name Society and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He spent his life working as a dairy farmer and a cattle hauler. When not working, he loved playing sheepshead, especially, with his friends at the Senior Center. He loved spending time with his wife. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren always brought a smile to his face. He will be missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Mary; eight children, Edward (Andrea) Thimm of Innsbruck, Austria, William (Kristine) Thimm of Rubicon, Linda (Marty) Davis of Harrison, Arkansas, Ann (Thomas) Santy of Fond du Lac, Moncia (Lawrence) Kreilkamp of Rubicon, Ronald (Barbara) Thimm of Hartford, Catherine (Orlen) Braunschweig of Randolph, and Lucinda Thimm-Juardo (Jay) Juardo of Madison; 26 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Laverne Geiger and Helen Thimm; and brother-in-law, Albert Peters. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara Thimm; sisters-in-law/ daughters, Joan (James) Knetzger and Jean Peters; one grandson and one great-grandson; brothers, Walter and Joseph (Joyce) Thimm; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Art Peters, and brother-in-law, Jerry Geiger.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Harold will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. John Catholic Church (W1170 Rome Road, Rubicon) with the Rev. David LaPlante officiating and co-celebrant the Rev. Donald Thimm. Visitation for family and friends will be at Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St., Hartford) on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Interment will be in St John Catholic Cemetery, Rubicon immediately following Mass In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to: St Johnís Catholic Church (W1188 Rome Road, Rubicon, WI 53078) and Angels Grace Hospice (W359N7430 Brown Road, Oconomowoc, WI 53066).
