Gene A. Lepien of Hartford passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 89. He was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Fond du Lac, the son of Arnold and Lilly (nee Jones) Lepien.
Gene farmed all of his adult life until he retired at the age of 72. He was a lifetime member of United Brethren and later the First United Methodist Church of Hartford. He enjoyed traveling around the country, and liked playing cards at Hartford Senior Friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Orlean, and his loving son, Jack (Charlotte) Lepien; his precious grandchildren, Jason (Aaren) and Brian Lepien, Miranda (Matt) Lawrenz and Adrianna (Jimmy Groleau) Lepien; eight great-grandchildren Jeremy, Chris, Emily, Jesse, Annika Lepien, Skylar and Riley Lawrenz and Payton Groleau; and his brother, Tom (Doris) Lepien. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. noon Saturday, Nov. 25, at First United Methodist Church in Hartford, 738 W. Monroe Ave. Funeral Service to follow at the church at noon. The Rev. Stephanie Taylor will officiate. Internment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
