“She was always there if you needed.”

Carol was born in Milwaukee on Tuesday, April 27, 1937, the daughter of the late Carl and Catherine (nee Rae) Ruhland. Carol was a graduate of Brown Deer Grade School and Shorewood High School. She graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelors Degree in Speech Pathology and received a Masters Degree from Cardinal Stritch University. Carol was a speech pathologist for the Cedarburg School District for 34 years. She was a lifelong resident of Brown Deer, where she held office in the Brown Deer Historical Society. Carol enjoyed working with children to improve their communication skills. She loved to see the expressions of children and their parents when their speech improved, which was very rewarding for her. Carol loved working with students entering into the profession as well. Since retirement, Carol has been a vendor at flea markets and at the Antique Mall; the quest for merchandise was thrilling. Fun was had by taking day trips with friends from Cedarburg and Grafton senior centers. Her red hat group “Razzle Dazzle Chixs” provided fun and friendships. Bowling and cards also provided much entertainment. Landmark Tours provided trips and gambling which was a passion of Carol’s.

Carol was a loving sister of Bill Ruhland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Catherine (nee Rae) Ruhland, aunt and uncle Ruth and Bert Ruhland, beloved niece, Carla Rae Ruhland and special friend Frank Inbusch. Further survived by other relatives, colleagues, neighbors and loving friends.
