Chester H. Koepke, 97

Chester H Koepke, of West Bend, age 97, passed away Thursday Nov. 30, 2017. He was born on May 18, 1920, to August and Anna (nee Zinkann) Koepke in North Fond du Lac. On Feb. 18, 1944, he married June Averbeck in Fond du Lac.
Chester began his career as an apprentice machinist with Giddings and Lewis Machine Tool Co. in Fond du Lac, where he worked for almost 20 years. Then the family moved to Grafton. Chester worked for Tecumseh Corp. as the head of inspection over the engine divisions for the remaining years of his career. He loved fishing, was a devoted Packers fan, loved traveling in the family camper, enjoyed golfing into his 90s, but especially loved spending time with his family.
Chester is survived by his wife June; his son Michael and son-in-law Nelson Berg; grandchildren Rebecca and Kathryn Koepke; step-grandchildren Jennifer and Jolinda Berg; great-grandchildren: Summit, Elle, and Miles; step-great-grandchildren, Caroline, Sydney; Sara and Izzybelle, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Patricia Koepke, and his siblings.
Funeral Services for Chester were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church (323 S. Fifth Ave., West Bend) with Rev. Amy Anderson and Rev. Wes Falk co-officiating. Visitation was at the church on Sunday, Dec. 3 from 1 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Washington County Memorial Park.
