Mildred was very active in Holy Trinity Church in Newburg. She could be found in the church kitchen during church functions, German potato salad being her specialty, and she sang in the church choir for many years. She loved to sing and dance, the radio was always turned on and she and Al would often dance around the house. She was also an avid letter writer, having kept many Newburg servicemen and former residents informed of local events. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, member of and past president of the Christian Women Confraternity, member of the Apostolate of Suffering and the Good Samaritan Guild.

She was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always interested in their activities. Millie is survived by her children, Mary (Norman) Kufahl of Kewaskum, Joan (Bob) Hawig Goebel of Grafton, Jane (Peter) Breitlow of West Allis and John (Brenda) Hawig of Sheboygan; and eight grandchildren, Dan (Sue) Kufahl, Beth (Randy) Stark, Mike (Jill) Kufahl, Steve (Kathy) Kohl, Jessica (Todd) Allion, Tony (Sarah) Breitlow, Tom (Chris) Breitlow and Lisa (Brian) Spaeth. She is further survived by her 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren with three more babies expected within the next year; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister (twins) in infancy, a sister (Cecelia) Sr. Raphaelita Wollner, as well as four brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law: Sally (Herb) Weske, Norma (Leo) Wietor, Wilmer (Blanche) Hawig, Edward (Catherine)Hawig, Margaret Hawig and Viola Hawig.
