Lois Jean Strobel, 72

Lois Jean Strobel (nee Sandmire), age 72, of Hartford, passed away
Monday, Jan. 1, 2018 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Lois
was born on April 18, 1945, in Richland Center to Guy J. and Hazel M.
(nee Burns) Sandmire. She was a certified nursing assistant for many
years. She was a longtime member of First Congregational Church of
Hartford. She enjoyed traveling with her family across the United States
via Amtrak and bus, she always dreamed of going to Hawaii. Lois also
enjoyed gardening, gambling, and listening to and following the Night-trax
band. She will be remembered being a second mom to many always making
sure everyone was fed. She loved her fur-babies, Taz, Precious, Frankie,
Peanut, and Rocki-Spring. Most of all she loved and adored her family.
She is survived by her loving children, Cindy (fiancé, Mark Malvick)
Priebe of Hartford, Scott Wiltgen of Waupaca, Toni Lemke of Hartford and
Albert Strobel III of Iron Ridge; cherished grandchildren, Alexis,
Bradley, Mitchell, Kayla, Josh, her “fifth son,” Joel (Amanda) Wiltgen,
Jamie, Tonya, Kyle, Jimmy, Jessica (Anthony) Fritz, Dakota, Edward,
Dustin, Jordan, Taylor Wiltgen, Bailey and Tyler Strobel; and 17
She is further survived by many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and
great nephews, the Strobel family, among other relatives and friends,
especially her special friend, Edward Hoeck (“Papa Ed”).
She was preceded in death by her parents; her ex-husband, Albert F.
Strobel; sons Scott R. Wiltgen, Russell F. Strobel and Fred A. Strobel;
sister, Helen (Edward “Popeye”) Thompson; and grandson, Nathaniel
Funeral services for Lois will be held Friday, Jan. 5, 2017, at 7 p.m.
at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St., Hartford). Family will greet
relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 p.m.
Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2017,
at 11 a.m.
