John Kosek, 87, of Hartford, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau.
John was born Dec. 7, 1931, in Hungary to Joseph and Theresia (nee Kuhn) Kosek. He was united in marriage to Theresia Guschlbauer on Feb. 14, 1953, in Germany.
John was a tailor for most of his life. He also enjoyed dancing, going camping, cooking soup and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Theresia; children, John Jr. (Nancy) of Hartford, Harry (Linda) of Sussex, Erich (Linda) of Richfield and Maryanne (Butch) Krist of Richfield; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Anton (Elfriede) Kosek; sisters, Theresia Demel and Maria Kosek; and cousin, Maria (Tony) Schall. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents; son, Erich I; and brothers, Josef and George.
A Mass of Christian Burial for John will be celebrated at noon Thursday, Jan. 31, at St. Kilian Catholic Church (264 W. State St., Hartford, WI 53027) with the Rev. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Southeastern Alzheimer’s Association (620 S. 76th St., #160, Milwaukee, WI 53214) are appreciated.
