Karen Hale, 70

Karen Hale, age 70, died peacefully in her Mayville home on Wednesday, Feb. 6 after a lengthy illness.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1948, in Stevens Point, Wis., the daughter of the late Mary (Hale) and Myron Jakusz. In 1967, she graduated from PJ Jacobs High School, Stevens Point. On Oct. 12, 1968, she married Joseph Raflik and together they raised two beautiful daughters, Lori Bauer and Cherise Raflik.

Karen’s loves in life were her beautiful family and loving animal companions. Her passion however, was antique jewelry. In 1982 she opened Luxuries Unlimited in the Cedar Creek Settlement. In 1988, a second store was opened, Nouveau Antique Jewelry, located on Washington Avenue in Cedarburg. It is currently in the care of her daughters.

Karen is survived by her loving, caring life partner of 25 years, Jon Jacobs. With his love and support she was able to remain in her home through her illness. S

he is also survived by daughters Lori (Dr. Raymond) Bauer of Cedarburg and Cherise Raflik of the “world.” Four grandchildren: Brian, Heidi and Rachel Bauer and Sage Raflik. One sister Patti Hale and brothers: Kent, Tom and Bob. Nephews: Keith and Kory Wiegerling and nieces: Jessi Jakusz, Sarah Kelch and Katelyn Jakusz.
