Helen Mae Sekas, 93
Sept. 14, 1925 -- March 17, 2019
Lifelong Cedarburg resident, Helen Mae Sekas (nee Cunningham) passed
away peacefully on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at the age of 93. She was
born in Cedarburg on Sept. 14, 1925, to Dr. Gregory E. Cunningham and
Livia Cunningham (nee Wirth). She married William “Bill” Sekas on June
25, 1949, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, and together they had
four children. She helped her husband Bill operate Sekas Plumbing and
Heating in Cedarburg for over 50 years, together with their son,
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved son, Gregory, and loving
She is survived by sisters Kathleen Rick (nee Cunningham) and Livia
Fahey (nee Cunningham); daughters Joan (Kent) Martin, Janet Sekas and
Linda Wolfgram; daughter-in-law Amy Sekas (John Wells); grandchildren
Patrick (Stephanie) Richardson, Jonathan Wolfgram, Leigh Wolfgram and
Colleen Sekas (Steve) Buda, and great-grandchild Molly Richardson.
Helen loved to play canasta and bridge with her longtime friends and
spent many summers at the family’s cottage in Minocqua, Wis.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Belgium
Gardens Assisted Living Home, and Serenity Hospice for their excellent
care, along with the staff and caregivers at Lasata Care Center.

improving the quality of life for persons with developmental

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday April 4, 2019, at
St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church-North, 1375 Covered Bridge Road,
Cedarburg, WI 53012.
Immediately following the Mass, a private family inurnment will take
place at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Online condolences can be
