The maple tree was planted around 1970 according to Cornelius's wife, Evelyn. Evelyn said she came home from work one day and found three trees planted in the yard including the maple. The couple have been in the location since the early 1960s. " I love this tree," said Cornelius, "I hope it never goes away."
