Slinger High School senior Erin Keliher has been named a finalist for the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards for her work in the community and volunteer service. Keliher will be planning to help with a kindness retreat at Slinger Elementary School on Feb. 8. Along with high school opportunities, Keliher volunteers at a hospice center in Johnson Creek, the Washington County Fair, Feeding the Less Fortunate in Milwaukee among other organizations. The apartment complex that Colbert has lived in nearly 12 years caught fire on Friday night. All patrons inside were evacuated without injuries according to the Kewaskum Police Department. " We all go out but some of us lost pets," said Colbert. Colbert lost a cat in the fire. Colbert has found a place she can stay temporarily. "It was a good building. We all looked out for each. Now, we have nothing," said Colbert.
