The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan issued a high wind warning for Wednesday in Washington County. Trash from the landfill was tossed around to nearby wooded areas after a high wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan. The National Weather Service reported wind gusts reaching 49 mph in Waukesha County. Members of Waste Management were on scene Thursday cleaning up the trash that was entangled in the trees. Mayer estimates the tree is 40-feet in length and was planted in 1964. The tree was knocked over around 12:35 p.m. Wednesday. "I thought it hit the house," said Mayer. The tree missed the Mayer home by about 3-feet. Tree removal is not covered by the insurance the Mayer family has since it did not damage the home. The National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning for Eastern Wisconsin until Tuesday. Snow totals are expected to range from 7-15 inches by Tuesday morning. According to West Bend police, two vehicles had stopped in the eastbound lane at a red traffic control signal on West Paradise Drive. Another eastbound vehicle drove into the rear of one of the stopped vehicles pushing it forward into the rear of the other stopped vehicle. A school bus also eastbound on Paradise Drive drove into the rear end of the vehicle that had originally struck the two other vehicles. The school bus was taking six preschool-aged children home from school. The children on the bus were wearing lap seatbelts at the time of the crash. One child suffered a bruise to her knee and was treated at the scene. The driver of one of the stopped vehicles and a passenger of the other stopped vehicle also complained of minor injuries and were treated at the scene. There were no other reports of injuries and no one was transported by emergency medical personnel. The children were transferred to another school bus and taken home. Germantown's Kyle Clow has been named the Boys Basketball Player of Washington County. Clow will be attending Michigan Technical College in the fall to play basketball. Members of the parks departments are considering allowing hunters to hunt for deer with crossbows in the city parks. <br/><br/> Rain runs across a window in front of Karlee Gross, 17, of Richfield on March 30, 2017 at the Aurora Medical Center in Hartford, Wis. Gross attempted to end her life by overdosing on prescription pills a year ago. Gross said she wanted to end the psychological pain she had been dealing with. Physician Bill Kumprey was able to treat Gross at the medical center and save her life. With the treatments that followed, Gross missed her junior prom. Gross is putting on an event titled, Karlee's Prom. The event is scheduled for April 28 in Richfield. All proceeds will benefit the LiFE OF HOPE suicide awareness and prevention organization.
