This pleasant village built along a sharp bend in the Milwaukee River is home to
a variety of businesses, including a 27-hole golf course, downhill ski & tubing
facility, unique specialty shops, pubs, and casual dining establishments. Named
after a local Potawatomi Indian Chief whose name translates to turning on its
track, Kewaskum has become well known as the Gateway to the Northern Unit
of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. The Eisenbahn Hiking/Biking Trail runs
through the village and connects with the Ice Age Hiking Trail. The area offers
camping, swimming, horse trails and boarding facilities, hunting, fishing, and

Newburg

Nestled along the Milwaukee River, this friendly community offers affordable
and attractive getaway opportunities no matter the season. Newburg is also
home to a wonderful preserve and educational facility just northeast of the vil-
lage. Spring canoeing and the summer firemens picnic with softball tourna-
ments and golf are sure to please. In fall, take a leisurely stroll or bike ride
through Newburgs glacier-created rolling terrain. After a winters day on the
abundant cross-country ski trails, warm up in a casual eatery.
Richfield

Less than 20 miles northwest of downtown Milwaukee, the town of Richfield
provides brilliant sightseeing and diverse recreational opportunities. Western
Richfields unique topography is a result of the last ice ages glaciers, some
12,000 years ago. Journey along the only road atop an esker formation in the
state, as well as, miles of state designated Rustic Road. Try your hand at the54+
holes of golf at courses throughout the town, or cross country ski or snowmo-
bile in the winter. Several lakes provide public and private access to summer
and winter recreation alike.

Originally named after its first general store owner, Baruch Schleisinger, the
village name was shortened to Slinger in 1921. Located in the center of
Washington County, Slinger offers a variety of retail shopping areas and
specialty stores. Many fine dining and casual restaurants are sprinkled nearby.
If you seek year round recreation, Slinger is home of the fastest quarter-mile
oval stock car racetrack and for winter fun; fireman's Park Annex has a sledding
hill and ice rink. Nestled between the county's biggest and best lakes, Slinger
offers something for everyone.
West Bend

Located between Fond du Lacand Milwaukee, West Bend becamea resting area
for weary travelers before the days of the railroad and was also home to the
Potawatomi and Menominee Indians. Characterized as a growing and prosper-
