IN BRIEF Callen Construction sales manager honored by national magazine MUSKEGO – Callen Con- struction, Inc., a family- owned, full-service home improvement and remodel- ing company, announced that Michael Wood, the company’s sales manager, was recognized by Profes- sional Remodeler magazine as one the publication’s “40 Under 40” recipients. The award recognizes those employed in the remodeling industry who display a variety of  attributes, including leader- ship skills, inventiveness, sustained career progress, client relations, dedica- tion, personal integrity, technical skills, community outreach and industry-associ- ation involvement. Wood, a Waterford resident, started with Callen Construction in 2002 in sales and became sales manager of  the exteri- or product team in 2005.   In 2009, he became sales manager for the entire sales force, which included management of  the interior design group. As manager, he is responsible for training and motivating both groups, ensuring all of  Callen’s programs and processes give the best customer experi- ence. Wood is known for emphasizing to the Callen sales team the importance of being a professional.   “Mike and the entire staff  don’t ‘wing it,’” said Tom Callen, company co-owner. “Everything Mike has implemented, from how people dress and talk, to how the vehicles look and the sales tools that are used, is a reflection of  how we give our customers the best experience possible.” “We care about the company and our customers,” Wood said. “Our goal is to help clients make informed decisions and to offer them an enjoyable experience with a professional company they can trust with one of  their most valuable pos- sessions – their home.” Wood is a National Association of  the Remodeling Industry certified remodeler. He achieved the certification by undergo- ing comprehensive review and testing in areas of  business methods and practices, ethical conduct, building codes and con- struction law, planning and building site layout, and all trade skills required in remodeling. Wood studied business at the Universi- ty of  Wisconsin-Whitewater and mechan- ical engineering at Marquette University. – Homes Plus staff Wood receives Professional Remodeler ‘40 Under 40’ recognition Wood
