Spring into the season
with lawn maintenance

WAUKESHA – With winter giving way to
spring – earlier than normal this year –
there are several steps property owners can
take to kick off yard maintenance this sea-
son. Experts say this is the ideal time of
year to ensure equipment is in working
order, loose debris is cleaned up and plant-
ing options are considered.
Because of unseasonably warm tempera-
tures throughout March, grass is turning a
lush green and growing earlier than normal.
For some property owners, it is time to get
the lawn mower out and make that first cut.
Before tending to the lawn, however, it is a
good idea to give the lawn mower a quick
checkup. Important steps including chang-
ing the oil and removing any old gas, consid-
ering replacement of spark plugs, changing
