Wisconsin Winter Traditions, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 11, Hart Park Senior Center , 7300 Chestnut St. , Wauwatosa . Ever wonder why St. Nicholas visits some folks’ homes and Santa Claus comes to others? Join Cait Dallas, curator at Old World Wisconsin , for a closer look at how immigrant customs of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries have shaped - and continue to shape - the winter holidays that we Wisconsinites hold dear today.

Educational Traveling Exhibit: “Some Assembly Required,” through Jan. 5, Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, 929 E. Wisconsin Ave. , Milwaukee . Created in partnership with Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. The interactive exhibit will inspire children to foster new skills through STEAM-based activities.

A Swepet Christmas, through Jan. 11, Old Courthouse Museum , 320 S. Fifth Ave., West Bend . 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Enjoy the 27-room Zinn dollhouse, home of the Swepet Family, all decorated for Christmas. Includes a new mini-exhibit titled “Doll’s Dolls,” featuring the tiny dolls belonging to the dollhouse inhabitants.
