Weapons: Beyond the Blade, exhibition, through Jan. 1, Milwaukee Public Museum, 800 W. Wells St., Milwaukee. More than 180 rarely-seen artifacts from the museum’s Anthropology and History collections: an arrow from Custer’s Last Stand, 19th-century Japanese chainmail, the gifts a warlord gave to Gen. William Mitchell, defense weapons for women and more. Admission is free for MPM members or $21 for adults, $14 for youths (5 to 12), and $16 for seniors (65 and older), younger than 4 get in free. Includes general admission to the museum and a free planetarium program.  

Deck the Streets of Old Milwaukee, through Jan. 29, Milwaukee Public Museum, 800 W. Wells St., Milwaukee. Exhibit transformed into a holiday wonderland with a Victorian-era flair. Meet Santa Claus on Dec. 2. Holiday events included in admission.  

European Village Alive!, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 1 and Dec. 2, Milwaukee Public Museum, 800 W. Wells St., Milwaukee. Costumed enactors bring to life European holiday practices of the past. Talk with them. See holiday artifacts usually not on display. Holiday events included in admission.

Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, hands-on museum for children 10 and  younger and their families, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays; closed Mondays, 929 E. Pabst Mansion, restored 19th-century mansion, featuring exhibits of Victorian dolls, a dollhouse and ornamental artifacts, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 3:30 p.m. Sundays, 2000 W.
