The Schauer
Community School of the Arts will present a workshop with the
Academy at Civic Theatre (ACT), the educational arm of the Waukesha
Civic Theatre (WCT). The Schauer Center has partnered with WCT to
offer a one-day workshop on improvisation for the whole family. ACT
strives to heighten students’ sense of cultural literacy through
flexing their creative muscle, hoping they will become future
patrons, donors, volunteers, and ambassadors for the arts.
The Family Improv Workshop from 10-11:15 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17
is a way for parents and grandparents, brothers and sisters, and
aunts and uncles to learn the art of improvisation. Through
interactive games and exercises, adults and children will think on
their feet, gain confidence, and strengthen communication skills. No
experience is needed, just a willingness to have fun. Tuition is $10
per person.
To register for classes or request a brochure, contact the Schauer
Center by phone at 670-0560, ext. 4, or in person, Monday through
Friday from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m., at 147 N. Rural St. in Hartford. For a
complete list of classes and descriptions, or to register online,
