West Community Theatre to stage ‘Wizard of Oz’

NEW BERLIN - It’s lions, tigers and ruby slippers at the West Performing Arts Center on weekends from Aug. 5 through Aug. 14. “The Wizard of Oz” will be at the theater at 18695 W. Cleveland Ave.  

The musical is based on the classic motion picture. In West Community Theatre’s production, more than 80 community actors, artists and musicians will be featured in the production. Dorothy is played by Rose Zignego, Scarecrow by Phil Stepanski, Bryan Madson plays the Tin Man, Ryan Dziuba is the Lion, the Wicked Witch is Alyssa Falvey, Shannon Messplay plays Glinda and Adam Williams is the Wizard. Scott Strenstrup plays Uncle Henry and Sarah Stepanski is Aunt Em.  

“The Wizard of Oz” show times are 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Reserved seating ticket prices are adults $12, seniors (60 and up) $9, students $7 and children $5.  

Tickets can be purchased online, at the administrative office of New Berlin West Middle and High schools Monday through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and at the West PAC box office the day of the show (an hour prior to curtain).
