The Coffee House begins 50th season

MILWAUKEE - The Coffee House begins its 50th season with a free concert at 8 p.m. Saturday featuring guitarist Ichiro Suzuki and vocalist Samareh Shahmohammadi as they play American traditional, jazz and contemporary songs. Joann Chang will perform her dynamic poetry.   

The show is dedicated to the congregation of Redeemer Church, as they celebrate their 100th anniversary of the sanctuary at 19th Street and Wisconsin Avenue, where The Coffee House shows take place in the auditorium.  

Living Activism night begins at 7 p.m. Sunday as a benefit for Riverwest Radio WXRW-LP 104.1 FM. It features  singer, songwriter and guitarist Bill Camplin, a Coffee House favorite. The evening also includes a panel presentation and music from the producers of several WXRW shows.
