MILWAUKEE
- The Milwaukee County Zoo will take on a decidedly
agricultural look Saturday and Sunday.
Family
Farm Weekend will be held at the Northwestern Mutual Family
Farm, renowned for being the only working dairy farm in the
city.
Sponsored
by the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, farm-related activities
are from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.
There will
be food demonstrations and a farmers market.
Events
include:
- Watching
cow milking, visiting the goats and cows, and interacting with
animals following the Stackner Animal Encounter presentations.
Times are posted outside of the Stackner Animal Encounter
Building.
- Children
10 and younger weighing 70 pounds or less can become a little
farmer for the day with a unique Pedal Tractor-Pull Exhibition
sponsored by CNH Industrial.
- The new
Wisconsin Spudmobile. Learn the ins and outs of potato
production, from the field to the plate, on board this mobile
education center (Sunday only).
- Adults
and kids 4 and older can compete for prizes in their age group
in the Milk Chugging Contest.
