- Charles Dickensí ďA Christmas CarolĒ is a tale of hope
and the Milwaukee Repertory Theaterís production gave hope
to families and youths.
tradition for more than 40 years, this year the play raised a
record $111,628 through A Christmas Carol Families Program.
The new production benefitted the Boys & Girls Clubs of
Greater Milwaukee, one of The Repís new Pillar Partners.
amount is due in large part to an anonymous donor who was so
moved by the end-of-show appeal that he pledged to match all
gifts given dollar for dollar up to $50,000. Through the
generosity of ďA Christmas CarolĒ audiences, The Rep
has raised nearly $40,000 annually for groups like Big
Brothers Big Sisters, La Causa, Journey House, Sojourner
Family Peace Center and the Next Door Foundation.
