Civil War education at Cushing Park

Students from the Kettle Moraine School District, including Cushing Elementary School, learned about Civil War life and military skills on Friday, May 22 at Cushing Memorial Park. Reenactors taught students some basic infantry techniques and cannon operation. As a finale, the cannons were fired. The event was part of the 100th anniversary of the Cushing Memorial and marked the awarding of the Medal of Honor to Alonzo Cushing for his actions in the Battle of Gettysburg.
