James L. Rajnicek

May 25, 1936 — Jan. 17, 2017

James “Jim” Rajnicek, also known by his CB handle as “Gemini” from his truck driving days, has finished his last load and completed his journey in this life on January 17, 2017, at the age of 80.

He now joins his wife, Cornelia (nee Lehr); son David Rajnicek; sisters Mary “Dolly” and Barbara Rajnicek; brothers Joseph “Jack” and Thomas Rajnicek, as well as his parents Mary (nee Pagac) and Stefan Rajnicek on the other side.

His memory will be cherished and carried on by his children, Daniel (Sharon) Staben and Dawn (the late Brian) Mau; his grandchildren Joshua Pals, Melody (Mike) Hazel, Thomas Staben, Jordan Mau, Alana Rajnicek, and Amelia Mau; his brother Robert (Ella) Rajnicek; sister Patricia “Patsy” Rajnicek; sister-in-law Dorothy (the late Peter) Lehr; and brother-in-law William (the late Dodie) Lehr; along with nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Jim’s lifelong friends Linda and Earl Teschendorf, and his neighbors, Tony and Maria Tarantino, for being there when Jim and Cornie needed their help.

As the owner/operator of Associated Trucking Inc., Jim’s passion for all things automotive was evident by his love for Peterbilt trucks and the Buick Grand National (his favorite car). Jim loved watching the Badgers, Packers and stock car racing so much so that he had the uncanny ability to immediately wake up from his nap if anyone so much as tried to change the channel. (“HEY! I was watching that!!” ... uh, yeah ... sure Dad.) Known for his honest and frank demeanor, Jim was always ready with a quick smile and a hug — Sunday mornings at Joey’s George Webb will never be the same (two eggs medium, bacon — EXTRA CRISPY, hash browns and raisin bread toast).

A reception will be held at Fuzzy’s Southside Pub & Grill (The old Labor Temple), 1726 S. West Ave., on Sunday, February 19, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to honor his memory and bring a smile to those that loved him.
