Ozaukee County resident killed by coronavirus was a WWII vet
CEDARBURG — Haly Besaw of Cedarburg confirmed that her father, Robert Blackbird, age 91, died of the coronavirus on Thursday. She said it should be a wakeup call to healthy people who think they are not in danger of getting sick, that they are instead pose a danger to those who are at a higher risk.

Blackbird was a resident at Village Pointe Common in Grafton, where three other residents from the same unit have tested positive as well as one caregiver. Additional tests are pending.

"The big thing is, yes, he was in his 90s, but the fact is, Village Pointe took every precaution. Every precaution,” Besaw said. “I think people need to know how stealthy this virus is.”
